I rated this game fairly high for the lovely experience of driving the Ferrari's, but in many other aspect it's quite mediocre.Detailed physics underpin a huge variety of challenges set throughout the history of this landmark automotive brand. At times you're leading a race by half a lap having completed time, while the next event you're required to set a lap time that can only be achieved by seriously abusing the car on chicanes (just wait until you reach the Silver era). That wouldn't be so much of an issue if the difficulty wasn't so totally random. Unlocking new tracks for single races takes forever, too. Some chapters have you drive the same car about eight times, sometimes for five laps around a fairly dull track at low speed. Still, the chronological career mode feels like such a chore. Not to mention driving the F1 cars in this game - said 312 F1-67 is indeed utterly amazing, as is the turbocharged F1/87 Here's hoping I'll unlock the F1 Ferrari's from the Seventies at some point. I especially like how even subtle sound differences come through in some models: the engine noise of the 348 is actually quite different from the sound an F355 produces in this game. I agree on the various Ferrari cars being a blast to drive. Oh and just in case anyone think i'm saying this to get SMS any money - they don't get anything from this. Like any racer - if you do buy it, then set it to Pro mode to turn off all the aids otherwise it'll probably render the game utterly pointless. It makes Misty Loch feel like a new track and its exhilarating when you power down and pretty hard to drive - esp.

Just stick to the Chronolgical career and don't move forward in time until its done and i think you'll get the most from it. I thought i'd get bored as i usually do but actually, once you get to this car, everything changes. In the last 2 days (say.4 hours) i've only raced 4 of the 30 odd tracks/ribbons. Still not entirely sure about how easy the rear end slides out off gas but bloody hell it does feel great. I almost want to but the Ps3 version to compare but i just took the 312 F1-67 out for a spin and its utterly amazing. I really think people are missing out on a good game here.
